The schedule for 2011 The Spring Championship of Online Poker has been published with 38 events taking place.
All of you who were looking forward to the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) are going to be disappointed to hear that it has been delayed. The event is now scheduled to take place in May. However, whilst you have to wait a little longer is should be worth it as the third annual SCOOP is going to be bigger and better than ever before with over $45 million in guaranteed prize money up for grabs.
This year’s series will begin on May 8th and start with two tournaments which have a combined total of over $5 million in guaranteed prize money. Just like the previous two years, each of the SCOOP events has a low, medium and high buy-in version so that all players can take part no matter the size of their bankrolls. There is a total of 28 events in this year’s SCOOP including no-limit hold’em tournaments, limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, 8-Game mix and Badugi.
There will be exciting tournaments running throughout the month until May 22nd when the Main Event will take place. Each year the Main Event it highly anticipated and this year each buy-in level features a seven digit prize pool. The low buy-in Main Event costs $109 to enter and will have a prize pool of at least one million dollars. The medium buy-in Main Event will cost $1,050 to enter and has a prize pool of three million dollars. Finally the extremely prestigious high buy-in Main Event has a huge guaranteed prize pool of five million dollars.
Last year it was Ryan “toetagu” Fair who won the high buy-in Main Event and he took home over $1.1 million as a result. This year there are even more opportunities for players to take home vast sums of money as there are a total of 12 events featuring seven digit guaranteed prize pools. Everyone can take part in at least one of these huge events as the buy-ins range from $5.50 up to $25,000.

At present there are a number of SCOOP satellites being run with buy-ins as low as $0.25. This means that everyone has the opportunity to win themselves seats at large SCOOP tournaments
