Find out what's in store for the up and coming 6th Season of the European Poker Tour, such as the new Berlin base. All you need to know here

The European poker tour is one of the most anticipated annual Poker events, and 2010 marks the year of its 6th season. Many exciting new changes have been made in order to improve it even further for both players and spectators, and no doubt the 6th season will prove to be the most successful yet. One of the biggest changes, however, is that of the location. Until now, the European Poker Tour (EPT) has taken place in the city of Dortmund, Germany, some several hundred kilometers out of the city center. This year, the EPT will take the road into the city and head on down to Berlin, the country's capital. There, the tourney will be held in a grand events centre called the "Spielbank Berlin Potsdamer Platz," which is structured to look like a glass palace! Details on the new venue can be obtained via email "info@spielbank-berlin.de ". this is the third change of venue lately for the EPT, which in other countries has transitioned successfully to Vilamoura and Kyiv.

With the venue now booked, the EPT is officially scheduled to kick off on the 2nd of March, and continue on until the 7th for 5 days of intense Poker play. The buy-in for the Main Event is €5,300, yet this year an enormous guaranteed prize of €1 million has been promised by PokerStars. This is a few thousand more than the €917K that Sandra Naujoks took home last season in what was the 3rd biggest Poker event of the year. Not only did she win in her own country, but she was one of only 2 women to become an EPT champion, defeating a huge 667 player pool.

The structure of the 6th EPT will remain the same as prior, as will all the tournament rules. The minimum age requirement is 18, and all competitors will be required to wear smart casual clothing. However, in true Poker style, players will be allowed to wear caps and sunglasses at the tables. There are already a wide variety of big Poker names booked in for the event, and as such it is practically guaranteed to be a star-studded, massive media event for all of Europe and the rest of the world to follow. Stay tuned for more updates on the EPT here!
