This November will see the arrival of the BC Poker Championship at the River Rock Casino in Richmond. The event is one of the highlights of the poker calendar
The celebrated BC Poker Championship is set to return to the River Rock Casino. Held in Richmond, British Columbia, the event will take place between 12-22 of November and is causing a great deal of excitement as one of the hottest events of the year.
The BC Poker Championship represents one of Canada’s biggest and most popular gaming events. With a prize pool worth approximately $2.5 million, the tournament is attracting attention from poker enthusiasts of all levels of ability yet again. Central to the tournament line-up is a special $2,700 No-Limit Hold'em main event. Scheduled to take place between 19-22 of November, the game is tipped to be one of the most thrilling events of the season and is guaranteed to pull in the punters.
Howard Blank, vice president of media and entertainment at the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation praised the BC Poker Championships and spoke of his excitement at its scheduled venue. "It is truly an honour to have BCPC take place at the River Rock Casino”. The tournament is responsible for attracting a selection of “talented and brave poker players" who gather to take on a unique challenge. He spoke of an “action-packed week where all players can test their poker face skills and connect with many other great poker players."
The tournament is packed with top professional players and a star line-up. Previous participants have included pros such as Liz Lieu, Lacey Jones, Gavin Smith, Brad Booth, Dennis Phillips and Steve Paul Ambrose. Daniel Negreanu was last year’s star player and defeated 689 other rivals to take home the top $371,910 prize.
The BC Poker Championship 2009 is now open for any player aged 19 years or over.
