It is been a popular for years and shows no sign of disappearing, with the emergence of online poker Texas Hold’em has topped the Facebook fan rankings
If you’ve been following the latest current affairs in the news, you may have heard that there is a bit of a competition between Lady Gaga and President Barak Obama over who has the highest number of Facebook fans. The US president is doing pretty well with a massive 9.4 million Facebook fans, however, Lady Gaga has recently overtaken him and she now has 9.9 million fans and is rapidly approaching the 10 million mark.
However, whilst the media is getting excited about which living person has the largest number of Facebook fans, gambling fans were excited to see that ‘Facecount.com’ showed that one of the all time classic casino games has a Facebook page with over twice as many fans as Lady Gaga.
The highest ranking Facebook page with the largest number of fans is actually Zynga poker. The Texas Hold’em Poker page has a massive 21,047,497 fans and its growing fast. It also has 140,489 YouTube subscribers so the popularity battle between President and Singer suddenly seems irrelevant, clearly people are far more interested in a good game of poker.
Don’t think that you are limited to just playing online poker with your Facebook friends. Poker has become more and more popular with a truly international player base as more online poker rooms pop up all over the internet.
There are a number of websites such as Party Poker, Titan Poker, Cool Hand Poker and William Hill Poker which offer a massive range of online poker games. There is something around for everyone whether you are new to the game or if you are already a long time professional you are sure to find something to learn from. The online world is not limited to Texas Hold’em you can also play 7/5 Card Stud, Omaha and every other form of poker that you can think of. Of course there is also the choice of playing in freerolls, single table games and large multi-table tournaments with a range of buy-ins and pot limits.
A number of the larger online poker rooms also offer poker schools and free play which helps those who are new to the game find their feet. These latest Facebook statistics just show what everyone has known all along, poker is not about to disappear and will always remain a hugely popular game.
