2010 has been a busy year for Bernard Lee so far, especially since being appointed Foxwoods’ Resort Casino’s official spokesman. The next few months look to be just as busy especially with the WSOP taking place over the summer
Recently poker player Bernard Lee wrote about how busy the beginning of his year has been dividing his time between player, poker media his role as Foxwoods Resort Casino’s official spokesman and his family. However as he pointed out the next couple of months should be equally busy as he is to be involved with Foxwoods’ MegaStack Challenge XVI, “The Bernard Lee Poker Show” and of course the beginning of the World Series of Poker 2010.
The Foxwoods’ MegaStack Challenge have always consisted of quite low buy-in events which have mega-chip stacks to start with. The beauty of these tournaments is that they allow players to take part in mega-stack events without having to pay buy-ins which normally range from $5000 - $10,000. This year’s tournament began on May 11th with a $340 buy-in event that had a 15,000 chip starting stack. There are a further two events, a $560 buy-in with 20,000 chips and the Main Event which started on May 15th had a buy-in of $1,650 and a massive starting stack of 40,000 chips. The series will finish on May 17th.
It is the third year anniversary of Bernard Lee’s poker radio show, in celebration of this he has lined up an exciting collection of special guests. They include: David Williams the 2004 WSOP Main Event runner-up and also the winner of the 2010 World Poker tour Championship. Annie Duke who won the 2010 National Heads Up and is also a WSOP Academy instructor and finally Joe Hachem who won the 2005 WSOP Main Event.
His final event, the 2010 WSOP with begin at the end of May in Les Vegas. He intends to play in at least 15 events over the course of the summer including of course the $10,000 Main Event. He intends to mainly play in No Limit
Hold’em but also plans on trying his hand in a few different kinds of events.
Lee’s advice to players who are seriously interested in winning a WSOP bracelet is to try and master a game other than No Limit Hold’em as this is by far the most popular game. Because of this he is also intending to try out Seven Card Stud and 2 – 7 Draw Lowball.
Lee is expecting an exciting couple of months and summer and it is certainly worth keeping track of his progress in all tournaments and tuning in to his radio show from time to time in order to learn from this master player.
