Bluff Europe Poker Academy lecture comes to London

The upcoming event in the Bluff Europe Poker Academy lecture tour looks to be an exciting two days full of expert talks and fantastic prizes

Bluff Europe, the leading poker magazine, has just announced that its next Poker Academy public lecture tour will feature 21 year old Annette Obrestad who will be trying to repeat her famous ‘no-peeking’ online tournament win.
The 8th May will see the next event in the series which is being held at the Grosvenor Casino located at London Victoria. In 2007 Obrestad entered and won a 180 player, $4 buy in, sit-and-go competition which during which she says she played almost the whole tournament without looking at her cards. She says that she won by understanding table positions and by reading the online payers, apparently she looked at her cards just once before an all-in bet to demonstrate “just how important it is to play position and to pay attention to the players at the table”.

Obrestad has also won the 2008 Stars Sunday Hundred Grand, a tournament with about 20,000 players in. She also won the 2008 Betfair Sunday $125 GTD Event and the Ultimate Bet $100K GTD tournament. Offline she won the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe in 2007 when she was just 18 years old.
The next event in this series is being held together with BlackBeltPoker.com the online poker room. Aside from Obrestad, the event will also feature talks from various professional poker players including Nik Persuad and Neil Channing. They will be giving talks on a variety of topics including variance and bankroll management, visualising range equity calculations and analysing flop textures. Obrestad will also be giving a talk on analysing flop textures before she tries to recreate her win.

Tickets for these lectures can be bought at BluffEurope.com/PokerAcademy and start at £600. The two day seminar also includes live one-on-one hand analysis as well as prizes worth thousands of dollars, they’re offering accommodation and flights to the upcoming World Series of Poker which is being held in Las Vegas for up to thirty people and one all inclusive package which includes the $1,500 buy-in.
