The British Poker Awards has been announced and it will be a huge new annual event which will honour all the top poker players and poker providers
It has recently been announced by the organisers of the London Poker Festival that the British Poker Awards are going to be held on the 13th of September at the Fox Club on Shaftesbury Avenue in the centre of London’s West End.
The London Poker Festival is a huge poker event which takes place from August 28th until September 28th and will run concurrently with some of the biggest poker tournaments in Europe, including The World Poker Tour London, The English Poker Open and the World Series of Poker Europe. These tournaments will bring a combined prize pool of over £9 million to London. The festival itself includes an extra 20 cash and small buy in tournaments held at twelve different participating London card rooms, they will bring an estimated extra million pounds to the prize pool.
The new awards ceremony, which is part of the festival will be a huge, glittering awards ceremony just on the eve of the World Series of Poker Europe and is partially sponsored by PKR Poker. The awards are designed to honour the top achievers in poker and are divided into a number of categories; these include “Best Overall Poker Player”, “Best Cash Player”. “Best Tournament Player”, “Best Online Player” and “Best UK Card Room.”
The winners will mainly be selected through a public vote, some awards will allow players to vote for their peers (or opponents) and the Best Player award will be judged by the editors of Bluff Europe Magazine, Poker Europa and Poker News. The tickets to this event which is sure to be packed with all the big names in poker will soon be on sale to the public and are expected to sell fast.
