PokerStars are running a special promotion which will see six players take on Jonathan Duhamel in a bid to win a seat at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.
PokerStars are busy gearing up for their PokerStars Caribbean Adventure taking place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas next month. They are offering their players the chance to win a place at the Caribbean Adventure and take on the WSOP Mani Event winner Jonathan Duhamel.
Their new promotion the ‘Jonathan Duhamel’s Caribbean Adventure’ started last Thursday and consists of a series of tournaments at the end of which six people will be sent to the Bahamas in January. They will then take part in a special seven player sit and go and the winner will receive a seat at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.
Every day until December 17th there are two multi-table tournaments taking place, one a freeroll and the other a $2.20 satellite. In each of these tournaments you have the chance to begin your attempt to win a place at the Bahamas.
After all the tournaments are complete, the top nine finishers from the freeroll, the top 45 from the buy-in tournament and the top 100 from the Silver Star freeroll will win a place in the semi-finals of the Jonathan Duhamel Caribbean Adventure. The semi-finals are spread across two days, December 4th and 18th and the top nine players from each region (America, Canada and the rest of the World) will move on to the final stage of the competition.
The single-table tournament finals will take place on December 5th and 19th; PokerStars is putting up $3,300 for players to compete for as well as the trip for two to the Caribbean. First place will take the trip, second place will earn $1,000 and the rest of the top nine will finish in the money. The six champions will then go and battle with Jonathan Duhamel in the Bahamas and try to win their seat at the Caribbean Adventure Main Event.
Jonathan Duhamel has become the latest face for PokerStars after he won the main event of this year’s WSOP. Aside from this special promotion, Duhamel is also committed to representing PokerStars in the Canadian Championships of Online Poker which begins on Sunday and will run for a week. Duhamel has happily accepted his new role as poker’s ambassador and has continued to do many interviews since winning the championship.
