The Texas Hold’em Mesquite Poker Open Tournament begins next month at the Eureka casino and features a $25,000 free roll which has no buyin

Next month at the Eureka Casino in Las Vegas there will be the Mesquite Poker Open Tournament. The tournament will end on August 15th with a No Limit Hold’em $25,000 free roll.

Linda Johnson one of the special guest hostesses said that she is “pleased to be part of this year’s tournament.” She is known as “The First Lady of Poker” and has had a successful career playing, publishes Card Player Magazine, was introduced in 2008 to the “Women of Poker Hall of Fame” and is also owner of Card Player Cruises.


Another guest hostess is Jan Fisher, she has been a poker dealer for many years and was introduced to the 2009 “Women of Poker Hall of Fame”, she also teaches at seminars on poker around America and is also a co-founder of the Tournament Directors Association and a partner in Card Player Cruises.

Rob Reid the Director of Table Games at Eureka said, “The Eureka is fortunate to have Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher as our hostesses for this year’s tournament. These ladies might even give a player some good tips on how to play a hand. We also have satellite tournaments daily at 8 a.m. that will begin as soon as there are 10 players signed up and they will give poker players a chance to win some money for the poker open. The satellite tournaments will have a prize of two $100 poker tournament vouchers and $30 in cash,”

During the weeklong tournament, No Limit Hold ‘em will be played starting at noon each day with an $80+20 buy-in.

Every day during the tournament No Limit Hold’em will begin at noon. There will also be a $25,000 free roll tournament, the Eureka is putting up the $25,000 and there is no entry fee.

There are four ways to qualify for the free roll, firstly you can play for a minimum of 25 hours between July 31st and August 15th, secondly with a buy in of $500, one player out of every 15 qualifies in the weekly buy-in tournaments which started in February, finally if you win any of the Eureka open events you will receive a place.

Each player begins with a minimum of $3,000 tournament chips. They will also be holding tag team matches on August 8th and 13th with half Hold’em and half Omaha/8.
