It’s not too late to qualify for the EPT stop in Deauville, France on January 25th where up to 1000 players are expected to compete.
Apart from the beginning of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, there are still lots of great stuff going on at the website. If you would like to have a shot at the next stop of the European Poker Tour in Deauville, France beginning January 25th, don’t worry as there is still time to qualify.
Last time the EPT stopped in Deauville the event attracted an impressive 768 players which gave the event a huge prize pool of €3,686,400. In the end Jake ‘neverbluff67’ Cody won the event and returned home to Britain with €847,000 in his pocket.
This year they are anticipating even more players and have moved the tournament to a larger area at the Deauville International Centre. The starting field has been capped at 1000 players but once it has been narrowed down, the tournament will then return to its previous venue at the Casino Barrière for the final stages of the event.
If you would like to qualify for the event then head to the PokerStars website. There you will find satellites running which have a prize package worth €8,000. It includes the Main Event buy in, eight night’s accommodation at the Royal Hotel for two people including breakfast and internet and €818 of spending money. The remaining satellites are all taking place on Jan 14th at various times throughout the day; you can see the full schedule on the PokerStars website. There are also step sit ‘n’ go tournaments running which will allow you to qualify, these can be found in the PokerStars lobby. Alternatively, you can buy in directly for €5,000 + €300.
PokerStars has also recently released a new sit ‘n’ go tournament format called Fifty50 which are essentially one table sit ‘n’ gos. In these new tournaments, once half of the field has been eliminated the event ends and the remaining players share the prize pool. This new tournament differs from their Double or Nothing sit ‘n’ gos because half of the prize pool is split evenly between the players and the other half is divided according to the chip count percentages, whereas in Double or Nothing tournaments the prize pool is shared equally between all winning players. For the time being the new tournaments are only available at the $10 level, however, they are intending to have it running at different stakes in the near future.
