A new event to be held at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles has been added to the PokerStars.net NAPT
The North American Poker Tour (NAPT) sponsored by PokerStars.net has announced a new stop on its Season 1 schedule. They shall be visiting Southern California for NAPT Los Angeles which is scheduled to take place between November 12th and 17th 2010 in one of the biggest poker rooms on the planet, the Bicycle Casino.
Team PokerStars Pro member Daniel Negreaunu said, “I’ve played at The Bike in the past and there is a strong local presence in LA, it’s always really important for a tournament’s success to have a strong core of local players as it gives even more incentive to travel to the events when you know there will be big money on the line. I’m looking forward to playing.”
Other players who are expected to appear at the new stop include the well respected Team PokerStars.net Pros such as Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Rousso, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, the 2004 WSOP Main event winner Greg Raymer and the 2009 WSOP main event winner Joe Cada.
The festival includes a five day Main Event which has a $5,000 buy in. There will be a number of side events which will allow players on bankrolls of all sizes to take part. For the latest schedule and information about events check the NAPT website.
The Managing Partner of the Bicycle Casino, Haig Kelegian said, “We are very enthusiastic to secure the West Coast Tour stop. We clearly recognize the NAPT as the next major happening in the evolution of poker, and we have no doubt this Tour will entice and attract players from all over the world.”
So far Season 1 of the PokerStars.net NAPT has been hugely successful. The first three festivals had loads of people take part with players from sixty different countries taking part and between 700 and 1,500 players taking part in each event.
Their Caribbean Adventure saw 1,529 players taking part and US player Harrison Gimbel won the $2,2 million first prize. The NAPT Venetian title was won by Tom Marchese a 22 year old online player who took home $827,648 and the NAPT Mohegan Sun saw Vanessa Selbst beat 716 players to take hom $750,000.
