Telesina is one of the most unique poker variations around, and you can learn it here with all the poker rules, betting structure and steps to playing clearly explained
Telesina is a variation of the popular Five-Card-Stud Poker game. It includes everything from community cards to a stripped deck, and if you need a new feel to your game, Telesina is bound to give it that extra twist! Follow the steps below to understand the poker rules and betting structure required for playing.
Telesina Poker Rules:
- Cards 2 to 6 are not used in the deck.
- Players are required to ante
- Each player has 6 cards – 1 down-card and 5 up-cards – of which 5 must be used in the final hand
Telesina Betting and Game Structure:
1. All players place an ante in order to build up the initial pot.
2. Each player is dealt their starting hand, consisting of one down-card (hole card) and one up-card (door card).
3. The first round of betting is begun by the player with the highest door card.
4. Third Street involves each player receiving another up-card.
5. The second round of betting is begun by the player with the highest up-card. Players are now allowed to check.
6. Fourth Street involves each player receiving another up-card.
7. The third round of betting is begun by the player with the highest up-card.
8. Fifth Street/River involves each player receiving another up-card.
9. The fourth round of betting is begun by the player with the highest up-card.
10. A single community card is now dealt to all remaining players in the middle of the table. In Telesina, it is known as the "Vela."
11. The fifth round of betting is begun as in previous rounds, only the Vela is included. This is the final round of betting in Telesina.
12. The final stage of the game in Telesina is the Showdown. All players still in the game must now reveal their final hands. This is begun by the player who last made a bet or raised, and is followed only by players who beat that hand (those who do not do not have to reveal their final hands). If no betting was made, the player sitting closest to the dealer's left must reveal first. The player with the highest ranking hand is awarded the entire pot.
