Poker Stars announces dates for season one of the France Poker Series (FPS). Tournament scheduled to set down in locations all across France throughout 2010
Poker Stars has announced the dates for its eagerly anticipated France Poker Series. Season one of the FPS will consist of events held all over France, taking in some of the country's most glamorous and cosmopolitan casinos along the way.
In a bid that is guaranteed to put the series on all the big names' calendar, each event will have a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000. What's more, the winner of each Main Event will be awarded a package to attend the FPS Grand Final in style at the Cercle Haussmann in Paris, February 2011.
The first five events have a €1,200 buy-in and satellite qualifiers have already begun running to give players the chance to secure their place on what is tipped to be one of the hottest series in the poker calendar. The Grand Final in Paris has a buy-in of €2,500. As well as six events in France, there is the France Poker Series Morocco, set up be a sultry, sensational experience. More details are expected to be announced by Poker Stars in the near future.
The France Poker Series will also have a Leaderboard, where players win points not just for placing in the money at any of the France Poker Series events, but also just for sitting down at the table. Those players ranked 1st to 5th on the Leaderboard will qualify for the Grand Final in Paris.
The first event kicks off at the Casino Partouche in Beaulieu-sur-Mer on 1st May 2010 before a break in the summer. All the action resumes on 25th-26th September at Divonne-les-Bains, followed by the FPS Saint-Amand-les-Eaux on 17th-18th October, the FPS Lyon on 13-14 November 2010, the FPS Forges-les-Eaux on 18-19 December 2010 with the Grand Final set to take place at the Cercle Haussmann in February 2011.
Freeroll qualifiers and cash satellites for France Poker Series Beaulieu-sur-Mer are running now from €5.50, giving players the chance to win a prize package that includes tournament buy-in, hotel accommodation and money for expenses.
