French Poker Tour

The French Poker tour 2011 starts very soon and over the next three months it will stop at fourteen different cities before finishing at the Aviation Club de France

This year the France Poker tour looks like it will be bigger than ever before with stops in 14 different cities before the finale is reached. The tour will be launching over the first weekend of February (the 5th and 6th) at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris where a special event will be held with up to 1,500 players taking part.

The week after, on February 12th and 14th, at Lille 500 players will have the chance to take part in a poker tournament whilst a further 200 can play at Dijon. In the third week of February 200 players will converge on Limoges and then finally the end of the tournament will take place in Strasbourg on February 26th and 27th with 500 players taking part.
In March the tour will move on to Lyon where 500 poker players will compete on the 5th and 6th with a further 200 players in Le Havre. Over the weekend of March 12th and 13th there will be events taking place in two cities, Bordeaux and Troyes, which shall be hosting 500 and 200 players respectively. The tour then stops at St Etienne on March 19th and also at Rennes where 500 players will take part in each event. The final weekend in March will see a similar event taking place in Toulouse.
There are a further two tournaments scheduled in the France Poker Tour 2011. On April the 9th and 10th there will be 500 players at Tours and then again on April the 23rd and 24th in Marseille. Additionally there is a satellite freeze out with a €235 + €35 buy-in for the finale to the tour at the Aviation Club de France, and further satellite qualifiers in the casino at Gruissan taking place in January and April, at Gujan Mestras in February and at the Val les Bains Val in March.

Last year the tour was won by French Man Valentin Messina who plays for Team Everest. He managed to beat 635 other players to win and take home the prize of €152,000. He also reached the final table of the SPT Aranjuez last year and won the $10,000 Guaranteed, the $30,000 Guaranteed and the $100,000 Guaranteed tournaments at Everest Poker. He also had some success at the Montesino Poker Grand Slam in Vienna last month finishing fifth and taking home €34,940.
