Full Tilt Poker and the Karma Foundation pair up to provide glamour and excitement at the annual Kandy Masquerade Ball, held at the Playboy Mansion
Full Tilt Poker is to team up with the Karma Foundation and sponsor the second annual Kandy Masquerade, a charity ball held in the glamorous surroundings of the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. All proceeds will go the event's chosen charity, the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA).
The extravaganza will begin at 8pm on February 27 and coincides with the World Poker Tour (WPT) L.A Poker Classic, a six day $10,000 that begins on Friday. Any competitor who wishes to attend and support the event needn't worry, as LA Poker Classic Tournament Director Matt Savage has scheduled an 8pm break in the tournament on what will be the second day of play.
The dress code is what one would expect when attending an event in surroundings as salubrious as the Playboy Mansion. All party goers must wear masks and women have been asked to wear "sexy, masquerade themed clothing". Men must wear all black to what can only be described as a party not for children! Personal cameras will be allowed at the event, for those who wish to share this night of extravagance with their friends.
Entrance to this event will set back partygoers $1,000 a head in advance, with tickets purchased on the day expected to fetch much more. Included in the ticket price is admission to the Masquerade, free parking at the Roosevelt Hotel, shuttle to the party, heavy hors d'oeuvres, an open bar, dinner, dessert and entertainment. Celebrity DJ Paul Oakenfold and DJ Mister E will be at the decks to entice partygoers to the dance floor.
The Nevada branch of the SPCA is non-profit making organisation that operates a no-kill animal sanctuary. It promotes humane education and challenges people to be the best possible custodians of the animals in their care. It has enjoyed a beneficial relationship with poker players in the past, with Full Tilt Poker pro Jennifer Harman hosting two charity poker events that saw $450,000 raised for the charity.
The Karma Foundation raises funds for charitable causes including the Susan G Komen Foundation, March of Dimes, Children's Hospital of Orange County and AIDS Walk Los Angeles. A social networking membership only club, it is best known for organising outrageous, extravagantly themed events including the Kandyland and Kandy Halloween parties, both held at the Playboy Mansion, as well as the Kandy Cruise and Kandy Vegas, which was held last year at the Palms Casino Resort.
