Caribbean Stud Poker is one of the most popular poker variations. Get in on its fun by learning the poker rules and all other important aspects to the game, here.

Caribbean Stud Poker is one of the most popular poker variations, loved by both beginners and expert players alike. It is a form of five card stud poker that has relatively easy-to-learn poker rules and a standard game structure. The main feature of the game in comparison to others is that you must compete only against the dealer’s hand, making it even more comfortable for beginners to assume.

The poker rules and game structure for Caribbean Stud Poker is as follows:
  1. All players must place an ante bet in order to receive their cards. Some casinos will also offer the opportunity to place a minimal side bet if there is a progressive jackpot available.
  2. All five cards are then dealt to the players face up. The dealer’s hand is also dealt, yet only one of the five cards is revealed to the players. The poker rules do not allow players to share information with one another about their hands.
  3. Based on the cards revealed, the players must now consider their chances at beating the dealer. They have the options of folding or raising. Folding means forfeiting the player’s entire bet, whereas raising means doubling the bet to twice the amount of the ante made.
  4. Once the players have made their moves, the dealer will reveal his/her remaining four cards. The poker rules state that in order to qualify for play, the dealer must have at least an Ace and a King in his/her hand. If the dealer doesn’t qualify, the player is awarded even money on the ante and raises are pushed.
  5. Assuming the dealer qualifies for the hand, the hands are now compared to determine the winner of the game. The poker rules are that if the dealer beats the player, then the player’s ante and raise are lost. If the player beats the dealer, though, the ante pays back even money and the raise is returned according to the paytable posted along-side the game. Also, the poker rules are that if there is a tie between the dealer and player, then both the ante and raise will be pushed.

As you can see, there is not much to the poker rules of Caribbean Stud, and we recommend this game to anyone up for a great time!
