Win your way through a poker game by deceiving your opponents! All you need is the hidden hand strategy, featured here, which teaches you how to disguise your hand
Half of playing Poker is about developing skill, yet the other half is all about knowing how to deceive your opponents and win even when you're not the best. Learning how to create hidden poker hands is therefore one of the best strategies around, since your opponents will not be able to determine what you are holding and play accordingly. Follow the instructions below for details on how to implement this strategy.
Kinds of Hidden Hands:
1. Naturally Hidden – hands that do not seem threatening to your opponents or unlikely for you to be holding. An example is having a 6 and 8 when on the board there is a 4, 5, 7, 9 and K. Here you have a double inside runner-runner gut-shot which your opponents could not have foreseen with only a 6 and 8. A player with a moderate to strong hand will never reconsider this option!
2. Deceptively Hidden – hands that are played deceptively such that even obvious ones can be concealed from your opponents. This includes controlling the pot with a high pair, check-raising on the come and drawing. In contrast, sometimes going about things in the most obvious way can be the most deceptive form of playing, since your opponents will frequently read too much into things and complicate an otherwise simple situation. Against beginners, for example, you can convince them that you have a weak hand by making large, since they would expect a player with a strong hand to wait for a call. Also, you can try to play games where your cards are face-down so that your opponents are more likely to make mistakes. Another way of deceiving your opponents is by role-playing according to the hand you want them to think you have.
Re-drawing:
A re-draw is a hand in Texas Hold'em that has the potential of improving later on in the game. An example is having a K, A to yourself and a K, 9, 8 on the board, since here you are able to hold both a high pair and a nine-out redraw to a nut flush.
The most important thing to remember is that at the end of the day, nothing beats sticking to the standard poker-playing rules. Whilst this can aid you in most situations, an experienced player can rely on acquired skill to win them any pot!
