Mike Matusow's poker guide

He is known for his verbosity at the poker table and Mike Matusow is certainly no slouch when it comes to winning at poker. But who would suspect that this poker bad boy had aspirations to be a writer?

Mike is a familiar figure in the poker world and the announcement that he is planning to write a guide to tournament poker should probably not surprise anyone. There are of course many books on poker out there but given the fact that Mike Matusow is considered one of the greatest tournament players of all time, his literary contribution to poker should be a worthwhile addition to any poker lover's bookshelf.

No one is a bigger fan of Mike Matusow than "The Mouth" (or should we now say "The Pen") himself. He readily will tell anyone who cares to listen that he is one of the best no limit hold'em poker players in the world. Furthermore, he admits that it is the one thing that he really does well. He also claims to be fearless, he is not afraid of staking his all on a poker game.

Besides being a top rated poker player, Mike is well known for his talkative manner during play as well as his emotional outbursts. You can definitely not accuse "The Mouth" of being shy and retiring. All this leads one to wonder whether he will include a section on self control in his poker guide, we will have to wait and see. As co-writers Matusow has chosen Amy Calistri and the Poker Shrink, Dr Tim Lavalli of "Is your life affecting your poker or is your poker affecting your life?" fame.

We will await the launch of the books with interest and wish Mike all of the best. Mike is two time winner of World Series of Poker Bracelets and can be considered an authority on the game of poker and poker tournaments. He regularly plays at the Bellagio in Las Vegas where he resides and is one of the best Omaha players in the world. Hopefully Mike will not follow in the footsteps of his fellow professional Phil Hellmuth and decide to promote his books with rounds of live ammunition being fired at him…
