Jesus will make you believe in poker, as he earns his 3rd WSOPC win

The Jesus of poker, Chris Ferguson, has claimed his 3rd WSOPC championship title – a new world record – and he isn't slowing down any time soon. With entry into the 2008 main event, you'll want to keep track of this pro.

Poker legend "Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson' has set a new record, as the first ever poker professional to have won three WSOP circuit events. This already five times gold bracelet winner sealed his third win at the Harvey's Tahoe WSOP Circuit main event after entering the final table against local hero Dustin Fox and Mark Bonsack.

Ferguson began the final table with a significant chip lead in second place. Bonsack was first to be booted out when he bluffed all-in with no more than an ace-high and no draw. At that point, Ferguson won the pot and took over the chip lead at the table. The next bet between him and Fox started at $90,000, and was raised to $100,000 when Ferguson checked the flop. After checking again, Fox moved all-in with the hope of taking the championship in his home town. Yet the river didn't play out as he needed it to, and he took home over one hundred thousand dollars, close to half of what Ferguson received, excluding, of course, his victory ring.

The Jesus of poker has also claimed two other WSOP Circuit championship titles in the past two years. In February of 2005, he battled it out at the final table of the second event of the WSOP circuit, at Harra's Rincon Casino, in one of the longest and hardest ever final tables played. The 13 hour battled against Prahlad Freidman earned him $655,220 in cash, as well as the traditional ring. Later that year in September, Ferguson took home $366, 088 for his triumph over Chad Layn, at the Harra's Las Vegas check point of the tour.

Ferguson has won over $6 million in poker tournament winnings, and alongside he collection of gold jewelry, there is no doubt as to why he is called 'Jesus'.
