21 year old Joe Cada took second place in a Full Tilt Poker online tournament walking away with $45,000.
A 21 year old professional poker player from Shelby Charter Township in Michigan, USA has taken second place in a Full Tilt online tournament and walked away with an impressive $45,000.
Joe Cada has also won a seat at the final table at the World Series of Poker Texas Hold-em Main Event. This is scheduled to be played in Las Vegas on November 7th this year.
Cada had said that he was planning on taking a break from poker, but he always plays on Sundays. He said he felt he had to play and just happened to win this bit of money.
Cada has been in Las Vegas for the past four months, playing in the World Series of Poker. This is a 57 event series of poker tournaments. He won $28,214 by placing two small events and then won a massive $1,263,602 for making it to the final table at the Main Event. The group known as the “November Nine” is playing for the top prize of $8,546,435.
Cada only recently returned home to Shelby Township from Las Vegas to a gathering of family and friends happy to see him home again. Cada has said that since he has been home in Michigan, his phone has been ringing off the hook. He doesn’t even recognise most of the numbers calling him.
Cada has also confirmed that he plans to continue playing online every Sunday. He is scheduled to play in a couple of large poker tournaments prior to Novembers Main Event final table. He plans to playat the Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California on August 22nd to 26th as part of the World Poker Tour. He will play another event in Barcelona, Spain in September.
Joe Cada is best known for winning the Main Event at the 2009 World Series of Poker. He became a representative of Team PokerStars 2009, a few weeks before becoming World Champ. By winning the championship at the age of 21, he became the youngest champion ever.
Cada had two World Series of Poker cash wins in 2009. He had been a regular online poker player for a number of years before winning the live World Series of Poker event. He primarily plays online poker and currently has had more than $500,000 in online tournament winnings. Cada’s live tournament winnings were in excess of $8,550,000 at the end of 2010.
