A brand new and exciting poker tournament has just been established by the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) and Betfair. Managers of this world class gaming event and the internet’s largest online gaming community have put their heads together to create a truly unique and exclusive poker tournament known as “The Free Million Dollar Game”.

The Free Million Dollar Game starts out as an online poker tournament, for which players can qualify for free via Betfair Poker. Online qualification will continue for a period of 18 weeks, containing daily freeroll competitions within 15 different regions. The regions include the UK, Spain/Portugal, France/Belgium, Greece/Cyprus, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Norway, Germany/Austria/Switzerland, Finland, Russia, Eastern Europe (Romania/Poland/Ukraine/Hungary/Slovenia/Croatia/Slovakia/Czech Rep), and the rest of the world (aka “ROW”).

The top 18 finalists from each of the daily freerolls will then move on to participate in a series of weekly regional qualifiers, and finally a live regional final. Players at the final will represent their region at the WSOPE Free Million Dollar Game. The last player left standing in this stage will be awarded with a first prize of no less than a million US dollars.

The WSOPE Free Million Dollar Game poker tournament kicks off on the 17th of September at London’s own Casino at the Empire, and runs until the first of October. Each of the events included will award the players gold bracelets, and the schedule is as follows:
Event 1: Friday 18/9/09, £1000 + £60 No Limit Hold’em, Day 1A
Event 1: Saturday 19/9/09, £1000 + £60, Day 1B
Event 2: Monday 21/9/09, £2500 + £150 Pot Limit Omaha/Pot Limit Hold’em
Event 3: Wednesday 23/9/09, £5000 + £250 Pot Limit Omaha
Event 4: £10,000 + £350 No Limit Hold’em, World Championship Day 1A
Event 4: £10,000 + £350 No Limit Hold’em, World Championship Day 1B
