Lansing returns to WPT

The WPT announced a number of exciting changes at their recent press conference, one of them was the introduction of Kimberly Lansing as the new anchor.

Kimberly Lansing is to return to an all new World Poker Tour which is designed to have more global presence and attract even more fans. This was announced in a press conference held just before the beginning of the Bellagio Cup VI which also represents the start of the World Poker Tour’s ninth season.
A few years ago Lansing was the video hostess during the WPT’s sixth season. Towards the end of her run she was acting in a role similar to those held by hostesses such as Shauna Hiatt, Courtney Friel and Amanda Leatherman.
Lansing said, "I'm so thrilled to be back in the poker world, I didn't know where the WPT was going, not having had a host for a few years, so for me to come back and get a chance to be even more than a host is really exciting."
Lansing is the first hostess that has also been given the title as anchor, this means that she will be covering every tournament from the very first day right through to the very last hand.
World Poker Tour President Adam Pliska said, “The new anchor position will allow us to have a central hub reminiscent of what you would see on Sports Center”
As well as the new anchor role the WPT are introducing a number of new international stops including London (England) and Amneville (France).
PartyPoker Professional Mike Sexton said, “We are truly going global. We're not only adding stops in the US, we're adding numerous stops around the world."
Also announced as a new feature for the upcoming season are the Royal Flush Girls. There are six of these girls who will serve as event ambassadors, they shall be appearing in every event and every episode of the World Poker Tour and will be bringing all the action from behind the scenes to the viewers.
The Royal Flush Girls will include Michelle Banzer, Melyssa Grace, Jennifer Haley, Melanie Iglesias, Sunisa Kim, Katrina Topacio.

Earlier in the year it was announced that the famous Matt Savage will be taking the role of Executive Tour Director for the WPT, at this press conference he was also formally introduced and said, "There are so many exciting changes at the World Poker Tour and I’m looking forward to having a big role in the WPT’s continued success. This is an amazing team and I’m proud to be working with them."
