There are 50 events on the tournament schedule and prize pools are expect to reach $20 million, this year’s L.A Poker Classic is going to be packed with great poker

This year’s L.A Poker Classic is set to be bigger than ever before, which means that boundaries are really being pushed given the size of previous tournaments. This year’s guaranteed prize money has exceeded $3.3 million! This is only the money that is guaranteed by the tournament’s organisers, if you are going to the Commerce Casino to play in an L.A Poker Classic event then you can expect to see some prize pools reach sizes of up to $20 million. The tournament schedule is running from January 21st until March 4th and includes events such as the World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational beginning on February 20th and the WPT’s $10,000 L.A Poker Classic Championship beginning on February 23rd.

During a month and a half of casino poker there will be over 50 events on the poker event’s schedule. John Griffo, the director of marketing and advertising at the casino said that, "This LAPC is longer, bigger and richer. With $20 million at stake, what poker player wouldn't want to be at Commerce?"

Obviously a major part of this year’s L.A Poker Classic will be the World Poker Tour. One of the favourite events is always the Celebrity Invitational and tends to draw many players and curious celebrity watches. The highlight of the poker series though is always the $10,000 L.A Poker Classic Championship. The series kicks off on January 20th with a $335 no limit Texas Hold’em event that has a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.

Even though the WPT sponsored Championship even is the most sought after on the schedule it is not actually the only $10,000 event that will be played. For players who enjoy all round skill and a bit of variety there is a ten thousand dollar H.O.R.S.E event as well. There will also be an ironman event which will challenge the mental focus and also physical endurance of anyone who enters it. This is a $2,100 event that has no breaks during play whatsoever.
