Full Tilt Poker offers lower buy-ins as the Mini FTOPS gets underway. Players will compete for a share of the $6 million guaranteed prize pool
Players who dream of glory and riches but who don't have the bank roll to match their aspirations will welcome the news that Full Tilt Poker's Mini FTOPS has kicked off and is offering a guaranteed prize pool of $6 million. The on-line festival consists of 27 events, each with a buy-in equal to one-tenth of the major FTOPS events. Such a large prize pool is guaranteed to attract the attentions of players keen to get in on the action and taste glory, without having to find the large buy-ins needed for the major event.
The two week series will boast a variety of events and is highlighted by the main event, a $50+$5 buy-in with an $800,000 guarantee. This will be hosted by Jennifer Harman, the only woman in the world to hold two bracelets in the open events. Another event likely to attract plenty of interest is the two day $250+$16 tournament with offers a very healthy $600,000 guarantee. This championship event will be hosted by Scott Montgomery, a Canadian player who was one of the final table players in the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
There is more than just cash to prizes to play for. All players who make the final table of the Mini FTOPS event will receive a limited edition jacket. Winners will also get a special silver jersey avatar to use on the site. The best overall player of the series will also get approximately $85,000 in tournament entries to FTOPS XVI.
The Mini FTOPS is the younger brother to Full Tilt Poker's flagship FTOP festival which has recently concluded after giving away over $30 million in prize money. It was established in August 2006 and is held approximately every three months. The FTOPS consists of multiple tournaments in a variety of different poker games and formats, each of which is hosted by a different Full Tilt professional. Throughout the series, Full Tilt offers a number of challenges and prizes that reward players for accomplishing certain feats.
In early 2010, Full Tilt Poker's patent-pending system, Rush Poker was launched, allowing players to jump to a new table when they fold. By eliminating game delays it offers players a seamless playing experience by automatically moving them to the next hand at a new table instead of waiting for the current hand to play out. A Quick Fold option allows players to move to a new table and immediately resume playing.
