Get in on the fun of kill game poker, where the stakes rise when a player wins twice in a row. Learn the poker rules here in minutes.

Kill game poker rules are a great way to bring added excitement and stakes to your game. They are easy to learn and can be adapted to practically any poker variation. “The Kill” relates to a process consisting of two separate steps, both of which need to happen in order to apply the kill game poker rules to your game.

The first step is a player somebody swiping the pot – not a split pot or a side pot, but the whole pot. In order for the pot amount to qualify, the pot amount must be equal to at least 5 times the amount of the big blind on the game. This means that in a $5/$10 game, the big blind will be $5 and the pot will have to be at least $25 ($5 x 5 = $25). If this happens then the player who manages to win the pot will have a button appear next to their name, signifying that they have completed the first step towards a kill. This button is called the “Partial Kill”, and it indicates to players that if the next round of Poker is won by that same player, then the kill poker rules will kick in. in Omaha Hi-Lo or 8 or Better variations, the player must win the entire pot, meaning winning both the high and low hands.

The second step is a repetition of the first; the same player to have won the kill must win the entire pot again in the current round. If they do this, then the kill poker rules will take affect. The kill game poker rules say that when a player wins the entire pot twice, the stakes of the game are increased. In a $5/$10 game, for example, the small blind will be $2.50 and the big blind will be $5. Then there is an added kill blind, who must post $10. This means that all other players in the game must call at least that amount in order to remain in the game. These poker rules actually increase your game stakes in this way to double their initial amount. The game will continue using the kill game poker rules until the player that won the doesn't win.
