Six of the best poker players competed at the final table of the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic for the title and $870,124
After a long hard fought battle in the World Poker Tour’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Kia Mohajeri was eliminated in 7th place which setup the placements at the final table. The final table included many big names which led to an excellent game.
Going into the final table the chip leader was Vanessa Rousso with over 5.8 million in chips; this was the first time that the PokerStars Pro sat at a final table on the World Poker Tour. The rest of the table was just as impressive if not more so, in second place was John Racener the runner up of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event with just over 3.2 million in chips.
In third place just behind Racener was Andrew Robl who has recently appeared on The PokerStars Big Game and so far made over $800,000 in tournament cashes in his career. Kirk Morrison was in fourth place, he is a former World Series of Poker bracelet winner and this was his 3rd final table on the World Poker Tour, he has 2.65 million chips in his tack.
Antonio Esfandiari was the next at the final table, throughout the majority of the event he held the chip lead so it is not surprising that he has made it this far. Even though he was not as in control of the tournament as he was, he still had a stack of 2.1 million chips. This was Esfandiari’s fourth final table on the World Poker Tour.
The final person at the table was Ted Lawson, a previous World Series of Poker bracelet winner; he had a very short stack of only 635,000 chips which is about ten times the size of the big blind.
It is not often that a final table consists of six big name players in such a big event. The tournament has been memorable and the finale was an excellent battle. The players were fighting for a first prize of $870,124 which in the end was won by Antonio Esfandiari who claimed his second World Poker Tour title. Andrew Roble came in second and won $549,003 he was followed by Vanessa Rousso who took home $358,964, next was John Racener who won $232,271, fifth place went to Kirk Morrison with $168,924 and finally the final place went to Ted Lawson who despite dropping out first still took home a nice $126,693.
