Ryan “toetagU” Fair walked away with $1,162,350 after winning the highly competitive PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker. The player is reportedly delighted at the win

The PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker is one of the most high profile and competitive events of its kind. Packed with poker playing legends, the Main Event never fails to attract the attention of crowds with its adrenaline fuelled action, fast paced play, and riveting finales. This year certainly proved to be no exception when Ryan “toetagU” Fair took the all important title after beating a total of 615 rival players. It took a total period of just two days for Fair to tackle his opponents in what is already being celebrated as a decisive victory. Fair first shot to attention back in 2009 when he finished 31st at the 2009 WSOP Main Event. His latest triumph however, overshadows his former success as he walked away with the top prize worth an absolutely staggering $1,162,350. Fair is reportedly delighted at the win and given the amounts in question there is no doubt that he will be celebrating the all important victory in style.

Other players also left the tournament sporting some of the poker world’s most impressive cash prizes. Aussie Benjamin, “delaney_kid” Delaney finished in ninth position taking home total winnings of $94,095. He left the tournament after a brave fight but lost out when his pocked 10’s ran into Q’s. Joe “jpmetalman” Patrick followed not long afterwards taking a staggering $138,375 as he went. Other top players included Sam “siola” Iola who landed $199,875 whilst BongBob’s finished sixth with a sum worth $261,375. Fifth place was snatched by Danny “cpfactor” Smith who was succeeded by Greg “DuckU” Hobson and Brad “BradL” Lipson. All players enjoyed considerable earnings from their impressive feats.

The heads up battle featured Kristoffer “Sumpas” Thorsson who ran into trouble when his pocket 7’s struggled against his opponent’s pocket Jack’s. Thorsson, who was also winner of the 2009 Rookie of the Year award finished in second place with a prize sum of $851,775. The star of the show was undoubtedly Ryan “toetagU” Fair who can now add a new title to his already impressive resume. All eyes will no doubt monitoring this exciting player very closely indeed as he looks set to secure his place in gaming history. All members of the poker industry will be wondering where this powerful and dynamic player will go next.
