The world of online poker is developing and evolving at a rapid pace in all aspects, yet none as fast as the latest increase in guaranteed jackpots. One of the internet’s most reputable and popular online poker rooms, Victor Chandler Poker (VC Poker), has now taken attracting players to its site to a new level, by raising its guaranteed jackpot sum to an incredible, and record $2.5 million.

This is that latest topic of conversation among all online poker players and operators, with the announcement of the guaranteed tournament being made only this week. Scheduled for September 7th, VC Poker will hold a $1,500 + $80 buy in event that will feature no less than $2.5 million worth of prizes and an additional $500,000 in free poker cash.

VC Poker is expecting a minimum of 100,000 online poker players to register for the event, and even more players to try and qualify for it over the next 2 months. Qualifying for this event will require regular players to participate in sub satellites with wagers of only $3.30, whilst newly registered players can qualify for free. Additionally, any players to register during the month of July will be automatically eligible to participate in the free buy in main event. There are already several big online poker names expected to register, including the World Snooker Champion, Ken Doherty, who is also a patron of the poker room.

"To make things even easier, VC Poker is allowing the use of 2500 action points earned between the 1st and 5th of July as entry into a special satellite tournament scheduled for July 15th. As for high rollers, a 50/50 heads up qualifier offering entry into the main event can be entered for a sum of 350,000 action points.

According to VC Poker’s representative, Lee Ferris, the Summer of 2008 will be simply jam-packed with online poker events, with everything from the European Championship of Online Poker II to the recently announced $2.5 Million GP Event. He added that being able to win such life-changing amounts of money for “no money down” is pure value.
