Anaconda 3-2-1, is a draw poker game, very popular with beginners and professionals. Poker rules for Anaconda are: 1) 4-8 players can participate 2) Each player is dealt 7 cards. 3) After the initial deal, players bet clockwise. 4) Pass 3 unwanted cards to the player on their left. Leaving the cards face down next to the player. 5) Each player then again raise a bet. 6) A further 2 cards are discarded, passing the cards to the player on the left. 7) The passing of a final card to the player on the left is preceded by another round of betting. 8) Now players are allowed to discard 2 unwanted cards, leaving them with their best 5-card hand. Should a player want to remain in the hand, poker rules demand that he must place his cards face down in front of him. Players can then choose to “rollout” their first card and place another round of betting. This “rollout” continues for 4 more cards and a showdown happens on the last card. Once the rollout has started, players are not allowed to change the order of their cards. Anaconda draw poker relies on having a good memory because during one hand some 13 cards are shown by the other players. Memorising these cards helps a player to strategise his game.

• There are several different versions of draw poker of which Anaconda is perhaps the easiest to learn.
• The basic poker rules remain relatively unchanged except that the number of cards dealt to each player varies as well as the sequence of passing cards.
• In some of the variants, players retain all their cards in others they keep 5 cards only.
• In some draw poker games, players have 'rollouts', i.e. showing a card at a time to their opponents and only then there is a showdown. Poker has gained in popularity and is even taught in some universities as it enhances the learning process.
