One of the online Poker industry’s most anticipated events is finally closing in – yes, the PokerStars 2010 Spring Championship of Online poker (otherwise known as “SCOOP”) is soon to begin, and it’s high time all those hopeful players out there get there schedule details jotted down. So here it is – everything you need to know about the tournament schedule and what to expect…
The PokerStars SCOOP tournament will be running for a period of two weeks between the dates of 2-16 of April 2010. There will be a total of 38 events taking place, each employing various Poker games and 3 different buy-in levels, such that every kind of Poker player will be well catered for. According to Bryan Slick, the Team Leader of all PokerStars tournaments, this is the most thrilling part of the tournament, since it enables a more diverse crowd of Poker players to get involved in a “championship-level” international Poker event. However, an even more exciting aspect of the tourney to most players will no doubt be the $45 million in guaranteed cash prizes up for grabs throughout!
The 2009 SCOOP event saw a total of $39,372,270 being cashed out to its participants, with no less than 9 million of those dollars saved especially for the winners of the low, medium and high buy-in Main Events. The buy-ins for this year’s taking will be wide ranging, and the first SCOOP event, the No Limit Texas Hold’em Six-Max, will begin at $22, $215 and $2,100 for the low, medium and high buy-ins respectively. There will be several events taking place simultaneously, including a 2 day Heads Up match play starting at $25,000, and other minor events ranging from just over $100 and up to about $10K.
The Main Event will kick off on the 12th of April for a high buy-in of $10,300, and will be worth a hefty $5 million in cash prizes. The medium buy-in of $1,050 will be worth a generous $3 million, and the low buy-in of only $109 will enable its winner the opportunity to win an amazing $1 million. Players will have to take on all Poker games in order to win – Hold’em, 7 Card Stud, Omaha, HORSE, 5 Card Draw, Razz, 8 games and Razz. Be there!
