When Texas Hold ‘Em gets tricky, there are few ways you can come out of the situation in a better state. Learn the poker rules to these messy situations here
Texas Hold ‘Em poker can often take a strange turn and land you in tricky situations. This page teaches you the poker rules needed to tackle them appropriately and come out of them for the better.
strong>Poker rules for all-in scenarios:
- If 2 players all-in with different amounts then you should take the smaller amount from the larger amount and return the difference to the player with the larger amount.
- If a player with a short-stack all-ins against two other players, then a main pot and a side-pot must be made. The main pot is made by combining the blinds, the short-stack and the same amount from the two other players, which all players can win. The side-pot is made by the two players on the side, which only they can win. These are applicable rules also for when several players all-in.
Poker rules for moving players between tables:If you need to balance tables when playing tournaments, then this is easily by done by moving the player who is in the same position to the one who has just been booted, or closest to. If you need to merge two tables then simply make players draw for their seats. These poker rules ensure that the players moved don’t pay the blinds twice.
Poker Rules for Dealer Mishaps:- If the dealer deals out 4th street before a player has made his/her flop move then the turn-card must be returned to the stub, the cards shuffled and the game must wait until the move is made before continuing.
- If your first or second hold card is accidentally exposed then the hand is considered a misdeal and must be re-started. If a later card is exposed then it is replaced by the dealer after all other hole cards have been dealt.
- If a hand is dealt to a seat without a player, then the cards should be folded as though a player was there and the hand continued.
- If the dealer deals the turn yet doesn’t burn, then the turn-card is considered a flash-card, meaning it is shown to all payers and then turned over as the burn.
