Enjoy the best of TV Poker this Valentines with High Stakes Poker, set to return February 14th for a cool new season. Get the lowdown now and update your diaries!
What better way to spend your Valentines Day this year than to rug up in front of the TV together for some good old High Stakes Poker?! That's right, this Valentines Day (February 14) marks the return of one of TV Poker's most celebrated shows, high Stakes Poker, which is returning for a highly anticipated sixth season of Poker pleasure!
High Stakes Poker is a product of the Game Show Network (GSN) cable channel in America, and only recently concluded its fifth successful season. Despite the show's massive success, its return was not a definite go ahead for some time due to a change of management at the network which lead to the cancellation of World Poker tour content. In November, however, the decision to bring back High Stakes Poker was finalized.
High Stakes Poker is exactly as its name suggests – a high stakes Poker game featuring a minimum buy-in of no less than $200K! it takes some daring players to take on a table like that, and the show's sixth season will see all its previous players too return for the thrill, among them many highly recognized Poker professionals. The repertoire of confirmed players includes the likes of Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfaniari, Phil Hellmuth, David Benyamine, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, Mike Matusow, Allan Meltzer, Andreas Hoivold, Yevgeniv Timoshenko and Sammy George Lex Velhuis.
Another thing to look forward to is the change of host. Previously, all play recaps, explanations, interviews and commentating was provided by A.J. Benza and his co-host Gabe Kaplan. For the sixth season, however, audiences will see Benza's place occupied by journalist and Poker pro, Kara Scott. Scott has spent her time recently providing commentary for the World Series of Backgammon, and also has experience hosting from Poker Night Live. She has many publications out in the Poker field, and her contribution to the High Stakes Poker show is expected to be significant as such.
High Stakes Poker will enjoy its regular time slot of 8pm – perfect for a pre or post romantic dinner recreation on this year's Valentines! Be sure to catch the season six premiere and all the Poker action sure to take place there!
