Poker Player Phil Flavin has taken the $110,000 jackpot in the online poker room of Paddy Power Poker after winning six consecutive sit and go tournaments last weekend
Paddy Power Poker regular Phil Flavin has just netted $110,000 after winning in a string of progressive Sit'n'Go Tournaments. In an unprecedented result he finished first place in six consecutive Fort Knox Jackpot Sit n Go Tournaments. Playing under his online nickname, 'flukesfla' he is a regular visitor to the site and can often be found in the Paddy Power online poker room, trying his hand at the $55 buy-in tournaments.
All six tournaments took place last weekend and began on Friday before culminating in his final win in the early hours of Saturday morning. The jackpot is a progressive one and it begins at $50,000 and increases on a weekly basis until it is taken down. The Paddy Power Communications Manager was one of the first to congratulate the player and posted, "I’m delighted to have awarded Phil with this massive sum. Taking down six consecutive Sit’n’Go tournaments is no mean feat, especially when you play all six of them on the trot! Hopefully we’ll have another few jackpot winners to congratulate in the next few months; the prizes are ready to be awarded!" Flavin's win is the biggest jackpot Paddy Power Poker has ever paid out.
A well know face at both online and live tournaments, Flavin has confirmed he will be playing at the Irish Open 2010 Poker Tournament after qualifying for his place through Paddy Power Poker. He'll have his sights fixed firmly on the Sole Survivor first place prize of £100,000, as well as trying his hand at the Main Event where the total prize pool is a staggering €2,500,000. The Irish Open Poker Tournament is Europe's largest and longest running No Limit Texas Hold'em event. All the action kicks off on 2nd April, with a Super Satellite scheduled for 1st April. Sponsored by paddypowerpoker.com since 2005, it has seen its popularity storm to new levels, with 700 players in the field in 2009. This year's action takes place in the heart of Dublin City at the Burlington Hotel.
For those players wanting to emulate the success of Phil Flavin, the Fort Knox Jackpot Sit'n'go tournaments take place every week at Paddy Power Poker. It is a six player, $50 + $9 tournament and begins as soon as there are six players at the table. The jackpot is awarded to any player who wins six consecutive tournaments. This weekend the jackpot is a tempting $60,000.
