World Series of Poker Circuit

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit is a series of poker tournaments held annually throughout the year at 5 different locations in the United States, in which players earn points for their performance based on their final placing in the main event. The 20 players with the most points earned are awarded free entry into the WSOP tournament of champions.

The WSOP Circuit was introduced by its sponsors in January of 2005, and is the first of its kind. The Circuit begins immediately after the conclusion of the WSOP, and each month a new tournament is held as a build-up towards the following year’s WSOP championship.

The games offered in the WSOP Circuit are No Limit and Limit Texas Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, and Pot Limit Texas Holdem. WSOP and its sponsoring sites and casinos hold regular single-table satellite entry into the circuit tournaments, with buy-ins sitting at approximately $200 for the main event entry. The site also features regular updates of the circuit stops, tournaments, events, buy-ins, dates, winners, prize-pools, and more. Alternatively, interested players can pay the buy-in directly, which start at about $300 depending on the event.

Nearly all of the circuit tournaments are filmed by ESPN and broadcasted over several episodes preceding the WSOP coverage.
